Nii Lartey and Ahmed Faid founded the business, and over the past five years, they have worked to build a platform that enables content creators from over 90 different countries to share real-world information about what’s occurring in their local area.
Ahmed and Nii met through mutual acquaintances just before entering college. Both of them were born and raised in London, United Kingdom.
According to the platform’s Facebook bio “Dose of Society is a video platform for underrepresented voices that is socially powered. Our goal is straightforward: “Real”
Dose Of Society History.
Faid attended the University of Essex to study economics, but he always knew that he wanted to pursue entrepreneurship in addition to what he thought would be a career in business.
He had the idea to record his London neighborhood in order to “give them a voice” because there was a disconnect between what he read in the news and what was actually happening there.
He put the plan on waiting for a time because his older sister, who worked abroad, arrived during summer break and forgot her video camera. Faid seized the opportunity to visit and film locals.
He was quite naive in believing that recording individuals would be a simple task, but he quickly discovered that this was not the case. In London, where most people are guarded, it might be challenging to approach people.
What would you alter about society, if you could? Three hours later, he asked the first person to react.
He got a lot of different comments, some of which astonished him a lot. Faid continued to share these movies on social media as he completed his courses at the university since they were gaining popularity.
Early Beginnings.
Lartey studied broadcast journalism at Nottingham Trent University because he wanted to emulate many of the journalists he had watched on television as a child.
But as he got closer to the industry and worked with several well-known groups, he quickly realized that “I couldn’t explain what myself or my community was going through as much of the news was filtered.”
Later, Faid contacted Lartey to discuss joining Dose of Society and provided him with a possible game plan for the media platform once he joined. They hit it off immediately and concurred that the media platform was essential. They subsequently started expanding the business in addition to their normal jobs.
Their amazing commercial support from Havas is now possible thanks to Chief Creative Officer Mark Whelan.
Across all social media, Dose of Society currently has 300K+ followers and 100M+ views.
They have also worked with many different clients, such as P-Revolt Diddy’s TV, in order to make money.
Dose of Society’s upcoming version will be an APP that will allow many of its fans to share original content from local communities all around the world.
They also take great pride in their international network of 300+ advocates in more than 97+ nations.
The two are quite concerned that the “here today, gone tomorrow” mentality that rules our culture today will be challenged by their authentic kind of media, which not only promotes positive change but also contradicts it.
